Like so many couples, we met online. I was a mother of 3 girls; living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and tired of the dating scene so I turned to eHarmony.. again. Jeff had 3 kids of his own; lived in Palm Coast, Florida; and his best friend convinced him to try eHarmony, that it was time to start dating. His "wink" was waiting for me when I signed back onto the site, so I "winked" back and our love story started. When we got past all their questions and finally got to talk to each other, I asked him what his intentions were.. after all, we were 400 miles apart. After he laughed about "his intentions", he just said he "had to meet the girl behind that smile." I knew then that I had to meet him. We had our first date in St Augustine, lunch at Salt Life and a drive along the beach.. where I fell asleep on his shoulder, I had gotten up at 3am to drive to Florida and wouldn't be home til 3am the next day. We did the long distance thing for a few years, then Pier 1 Imports gave me my own store in Hilton Head, SC.. cutting the distance in half. But a year later, they closed my store. We decided that it was time for me to move to Florida. After a few years, I gave up hoping he would propose, but on January 10, 2026, on the same bench where we had our first date, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! And here we are today!!
